Notes for JOHN GORE: John Gore had a Bond of Apprentiship to Francis Gore. He was to " teach her the art of serving, spinning, knitting and to read the Bible". He was to furnish food,lodging, and all other things needed. She was eleven years old and this was to last untill she was eighteen. This is dated June 14th, 1792.

Notes for REUBEN GORE: Reubin Gore was a blacksmith, and enlisted in the Civil War in Calhoun Co., AL, but no military record has been found. His widow, Mrs. Mary Catherine Gore, applied for a widow's pension on Aug. 29, 1916 in Yalobusha Co., MS. The pension was approved on Sept. 8, 1916. According to the pension application, Reubin enlisted in 1861 in Alabama in Co. B. Buffy's Regt. under the commands of Capt. Green & Col. Duffy. He was discharged 1865 in Jonesboro, NC.
